This commission is one of a kind that I usually get during the year. The daughter of the Owner of the Atlanta Falcons wanted to gift his dad a paper sculpture and asked me to work on this special piece. When we were researching on types of Falcons we found it will be just beautiful to honour the local species of Atlanta and focus on a Peregrine falcon who can be seen and spotted in the surrounding areas. The Falcon is the symbol of this football team and has been represented in many different mediums and sizes. In this case I wanted to keep it quite realistic and close in size and detail to the real species.
For this particular sculpture and due to the detailed pattern I decided to create a stencil template that will allow me to spray paint all the feathers of the chest to reduce working hours and also details that could potentially fall off with the years. The gradient on the wings was a new addition, featuring more colour and detail based on my observations to the detail in the feathers and body. Additionally I crated a base, a special certificate and letter and a very secure box to send this sculpture all the way to America.
